Measurement of the temperature rise

As an example, the figure on the left, shows the measured temperature rise as a function of the time for solid BK7, obtained in a THW instrument shown on the right.

It can be seen that typical times start from 0.001 s and reach up to 10 s. In this time period, the temperature rise achieved is about 5 K. The thermal conductivity is obtained by employing FE analysis for the whole geometry.
